Know golf slice

Golf slice takes place because the clubface stays open to the path that you hit. You must know what is slice before you try to fix it. If you understand what slice is, then it will be easier for you to improve your slice shot. When the golf ball’s flight path changes, it is called a slice. So, the slice is when your ball changes its path. A slice can be done intentionally. But most of the time, a slice is happened by mistake. A slice is basically a mishit.

If you are a left-handed player, the golf ball will change its path from right to left. And if you are a right-handed player, the golf ball will change its direction from left to right.

The cause of a slice shot

If you want to fix a slice shot, you need to understand how it occurs. If you know how it appears, you can stop it from happening. Even though sometimes, a golf slice is made purposefully, but most of the time, it is mishit. And even if you want to hit a slice shot, you need to know how to do that. And in order to do that, you need to know exactly how it happens.

There are two primary causes of the slice, and if you mix both of them, you will be able to create a severe slice shot.

A slice shot occurs because the clubface arrives at impact with the golf ball in an open position. So, the slice mainly occurs for the clubface. The clubface opens, and that’s when the slice happens. This can happen due to setup or swinging issues. A

nd if the slice is intentional, it is most likely to be occurred by outside to inside swing path, which effectively opens the face by creating a “wiping” or “swiping” across the golf ball. And this is known as a “slice spin.” Slice spin is clockwise sidespin for right-handed golfers, counter-clockwise for lefties. A slice-spin is also called as “coming over the top.”

How to fix a slice shot?

Now that you know how the slice shot occurs, you can understand better how to fix a slice shot. Fixing a slice shot is easy if you follow some of our tricks. It would be best if you focused on some things in order to fix your slice. You can fix your slice shot in a single shot if you hit remembering our ways.

The things that you need to put your focus on while trying to fix a slice shot are – your standing position, your grip, the V position, aiming, checkpoints, shutting the clubface and taking the shot. If you focus on these things, you will be able to fix your slice shot very quickly.

The fix

Now, I will tell you how to fix your slice shots. You can fix your slice shots with a driver. So, keep on reading if you want to fix your slice shots.

Your standing position

I don’t think you will face many difficulties in fixing your standing position. If you want to fix your slice, then you need to maintain a specific posture. This is very important. To hit a successful shot, you need to maintain a particular pose. If your posture is not right, it will be difficult for you to hit correctly as well. To fix your standing position, stand following your standard posture. You need to make sure your weight is lifted from left to your right foot or from your right to your left. It depends on if you are a lefty or a righty. So, fix your posture first.

Your grip

The grip is an essential part of fixing the slice. If you don’t have a firm grip, you won’t be able to fix your slice. And that’s why you need to make sure you have a firm grip. If you don’t have a strong grip, you will not get the desired flight. It would be best if you fixed your grip following the standard method. To fix your grip, you need to take your left hand to rotate it on top of the club a little bit, which is known as the more substantial grip. Your hands should show you two knuckles. If it doesn’t, that means you have a weaker grip. And then you want to place up your right hand in a position where the palm of your hand matches the club’s angle.

The V position

This position is related to your grip as well. When you have a firmer grip, you need to make sure that your left-hand knuckles create a V position, which should point towards your right-hand shoulder. If you are not getting that V position, you won’t get a straight shot. You need to check your knuckles. If they are showing, then you have a good grip, but if they aren’t showing, that means your grip isn’t right. To fix that, rotate your grip to clockwise in order to bring it in a neutral position.

Aiming

After fixing your standing position, grip, and V position, you need to fix your aiming. Once you have your position ready, you need to aim. And to aim correctly, you need to aim straight. Many don’t aim directly, thinking that they will hit straight if they aim left or right because of the swing or spin. But in reality, you need to aim straight. If you aim straight, it will help your brain and hit straightly. And thus, you will avoid slice.

The checkpoints

After you fixed your aim, you need to imagine two checkpoints. In order to ensure the shots, you need to make sure you are hitting in the middle of the checkpoints. The checkpoints should be on the flight path of your golf ball. These checkpoints will help you make sure that your golf balls are going straight and on the way. You need to make sure that your ball id is going through the checkpoints. Your golf ball should point strictly to the checkpoints in order to ensure the shot.

Shutting your clubface

Slice takes place due to the openness of the clubface. To fix your slice, you need to close your clubface. Closing your clubface will solve your problem. To shut your clubface, you need to check the direction of your clubface first. If the face of the club is open or faced towards the sky, then you will have to fix it. To do that, tilt the clubface towards the ground a little bit. And this will help you to shut your clubface. By closing your clubface, you will solve one of your biggest problems in fixing your slice.

Taking the shots

Now all you have to do is to take the shot. Follow our previous instructions and take the shot. This is how you avoid slice or fixed slice.

By following our given instructions, you can fix your slice. If you follow our instructions carefully, you can fix your slice shots in just a week or so. It is not so difficult. It is easy if you try it with the proper instructions which we have given you.

Fixing a left-handed slice

Fixing a left-handed slice is not much different than fixing a right-handed slice. It is pretty much the same. You just have to make sure to follow the given instructions. Many believe left-handed golfers don’t make slices, but they also make a slice, and there are ways to fix this issue.

To fix a left-handed slice, you’re standing position will remain the same. But you have to hold the golf club with your right and left hand. You have to keep the golf club in the opposite way of controlling the golf club of a left-hander. Other than that, everything remains pretty much the same.

Being a left-hander, you have to practice more because it is more challenging to avoid slice when you swing the club.
Fixing a slice can be difficult without the proper education on fixing a slice. But with the proper instructions, it can be done pretty easily and quickly. Many tend to suffer in this category. But with our help, you can fix your slice if you are a lefty or a righty.
